atsec生日快乐!

2007-01-11

On the 11th of January atsec celebrates its 7th birthday. We are very happy that atsec is still in excellent shape. The company is growing, healthy and strong.

Our best wishes and thanks to all the contributors: Our employees, our customers and our partners.

A lot happened during these 7 years. Everybody interested in the company's history is invited to have a look into our news section to get an overview of the past year.

It is a nice tradition within atsec that each year another consultant writes a laudation including a very personal view of the company. Please have a look at this year's laudation written by Michael Poehlsen:

Michael Poehlsen's Laudatio:

This year I was asked to write a Laudation for atsec's 7th anniversary. To make it short, I’d like to quote my colleague Gerald – Jeder quält sich anders! (Everyone torments him/herself differently!)

“Problem vs. Solution”
One of the most challenging tasks within the area of Information Security is to turn something that can’t be done right in the first place (formally known as “a problem”) into something that works fine and reliably, without stopping the revenue process in the second place (known as “a solution”).

This is what atsec is all about – to merge, lead and motivate a large number of highly sophisticated individuals into something that works well and results in a profitable company is a real problem, or rather, a real challenge in the Information age. Over the past seven years, the management, back-office, consultant and Common Criteria teams of atsec have done their homework to make this happen, and today we are one of the most remarkable solution providers in the field of Information Security.

No “Groundhog Day” please
When I first joined atsec I was looking for something that allowed me to avoid what I like to call the “Groundhog Day” phenomenon: A day-to-day work environment in which I could neither use my potential nor gain more experience in different areas of the daily work madness.

I have to admit that over the past 27 months of working for atsec, there was never a day like any other. From the beginning in England, down to a challenging environment in Switzerland, all the way back to Northern Europe, I have never experienced so many different challenges before in my life.

A big “Dankeschön”
All of you and our clients make the difference each single day. Who can say this about her/his job? I am happy to be part of such a successful and challenging cesta.

Thanks to our Customers for all the trust we received over the past 7 years. Fortunately we have survived the usual “seven year itch,” and I am confident that we will master the future in the same manner in which we managed to overcome Kindergarten age. I am proud to be part of the 2K7 atsec Class.

Happy Birthday atsec(ers)
Michael
